Weekly Totals Link Up: Saved 63% At Publix On Tons of Fresh & Non-Processed Items

Happy 2013! I am so excited to start my second full calendar year of couponing! I am really finding that I have learned a lot from my shopping in 2012 and it is nice to know what types of sales and deals to expect in the year to come.

I was really excited to see that Publix had chicken on sale for $1.99 a pound this week as I expected and since we are eating a little lighter this week and next I mostly bought all fresh/non-processed items this week. It's been mostly soups and salads in our house and I am sure that my shopping trips lately have reflected that : )

I spent under $40 this week and was able to stock up on chicken, good cheeses, veggies, walnuts, pistachios, and grab cheap mouthwash and FREE Emergen C. I still have tons of milk and eggs from the holiday sales as well as lots of pantry staples so we really didn't need much this week.

I just barely hit my $60 before coupons so I was able to split up my trip and use two $5/$30 Winn Dixie coupons which really help lower my totals when most of my food has no coupons.

Breakdown of today's Publix Trip:
Total retail value: $104.46
Total spent: $38.74
Total saved: $65.72

What I got with sale/coupon match ups: 
  • 2 ten count boxes of Emergen C, retails for $3.99 each
    • Used two $1.50 off coupons from the 12/9 RP 
    • Stacked with a $5/2 Publix Green Ad. Flyer coupon
    • Made them both FREE
  •  1 liter bottle of Listerine Mouthwash, retails for $4.99]
  •  2 big bags of Planters Pistachios, retails for $6.59 each, on sale BOGO ($3.29 each)
    • Used a $1/2 coupon from the 11/11 SS
    • Stacked with a $1/2 Target coupon
    • Made them $2.29 a bag
  •   2 tubs of Presidente Feta Cheese, retails for $5.39 each, on sale BOGO ($2.69 each)
    • Used two $1 off coupons from the man. website
    • Made them $1.69 each
  •  4 pounds of Publix boneless, skinless chicken breasts, retails for $18.12, on sale for $7.86 total
  • 2 Marzetti Simply Dressed Salad Dressings, retails for $3.69 each, on sale BOGO ($1.84 each)
    • Used two .50 cents off Facebook coupons
    • Made them $1.34 each
  •  2 boxes of Special K Popcorn Chips, retails for $3.79 each, on sale for $2.50 each
  •  2 bags of Publix salad, retails for $3.09 each, on sale for $2 each
  • 2 tubs of DiGiorno Shredded Cheese, retails for $4.99 each, on sale BOGO made them $2.49 each
  • 2 boxes of Pillsbury Cake Mix, retails for $1.89 each, on sale BOGO made them .94 cents each
  • 1 Publix Sourdough Baguette, $2.79
  • Matchstick Carrots, $1.89
  • 1 bag of Publix Walnuts, $3.19
  • Flora Brand Fresh Gnocchi, $2.99
  • Celery, $1.79
  • Cucumber, .85 cents
  • Fuji Apple, $1.55
