What Easton Wore: June & January At The Beach

Some photos from an evening at the beach in one of our favorite new June & January outfits.

Sometimes I miss having seasons. Other times I realize how lucky we are that we can head down to the beach any day of the year, even in early February.

Easton currently thinks he is 5 years old instead of 16 months old and is obsessed with climbing the stairs at the beach boardwalk even though he hasn't quite mastered the skill completely. If we even dare to go to one of the many parks near a beach access he will break off into a sprint and head for the boardwalk and proceed to have an epic meltdown if we don't let him go down to the sand.

These pictures are even more special because they are at a beach that Justin and I have been going to ever since the summer of 2004 when we first started dating. It was the first beach we took Easton too after he was born too. I'm pretty sure he and Justin swing by there once a week to "check the waves" while at I'm work.

If you follow me on social media or know us in real life, it's no secret that June & January is one of my current favorites when it comes to Easton's wardrobe. I am loving this combo of teal striped tank and poppy lounge shorts on him and can't wait to dress him in one million different versions of this outfit all summer.

And, yes, I know he needs another hair cut but I just can't bring myself to cut those sweet little baby curls again yet.

Easton's version of fierce.

Bubbles are life.

Sassy "cheese" face.

Skinny baby arms in tank tops kill me.

Those cheeks though.

Our current favorite pairs as pictured above:
Born In The USA - For The Win - Anchors Aweigh

It's no secret that Easton's favorite shoes are Freshly Picked Moccasins. They come in the best colors and prints to match all of his outfits and I love how easy they are to put on. FP moccs are seriously the only shoes Easton has yet to figure out how to take off and the soft soles are great as he has recently started walking and running everywhere.

We are so excited because today is Freshly Picked's annual "Black Tuesday Sale" where every single item on the site is 25% off for 24 hours. The sale starts at 10am MST (12 noon for the East Coast) and the best styles and sizes may sellout quickly so you will want to be sure to log on to Freshly Picked site right at the start.

All of our favorites except for Born In The USA and Swimming With Sharks will be back for the sale tomorrow. In fact, FP is bringing back tons of past fan favorites so be sure to visit their Facebook page and Instagram to catch some of the sneak peaks of what will be included in the sale.

Easton is pretty well stocked in his current size but I plan on grabbing a few of our favorites in the next size up as well as some newborn crib moccs for upcoming baby shower gifts. What are you hoping to grab?

And as if the sale wasn't exciting enough, I'm honored to have the opportunity to giveaway a pair of Freshly Picked soft soled moccasins on the blog this week! Once a winner is randomly chosen you will need to respond to your email from me within 48 hours so I can give your information to Freshly Picked. Good luck!

Full disclosure: I did not receive monetary compensation for this post but Freshly Picked did send Easton an awesome pair of moccasins and they are graciously providing the giveaway prize to the winner. All opinions are completely my own and we loved FP way before this collaboration : )

Pumpkin Patch 2016

A few photos of the Pumpkin Patch 2016!

Since Easton was too little to bring to the pumpkin patch last year, Justin and I knew we wanted to bring him for photos this year. And in our family there is no going to the pumpkin patch on your own, it must be a full on family affair with cousins and grandparents too.

Our day started out slightly chaotic when we arrived to the pumpkin patch my mom and sister had visited last year only to find out that the weekend they had visited last year was apparently some kind of "fall festival" that was not scheduled until next weekend.

We had heard good things about a pumpkin patch at a church a few minutes away so we headed there with high hopes for pumpkin filled family photos.

When we arrived at the second pumpkin patch we realized that it wasn't scheduled to open until noon and it was only 10:30. After a short family discussion (read: argument) we decided that we would take the risk of trespassing in the name of cute fall pictures.

We weren't the only ones desperate enough to risk breaking laws for pumpkin photos. Once we decided to step over the ropes, families who had been waiting in their cars decided to get out and join us. Enough people showed up that the church volunteers ended up coming out early and opening ahead of time. Guess we started a trend.

Easton wasn't too cooperative for the photos but he had way too much fun running around and grabbing every pumpkin in sight. My nephew Jack was so in love with his mini pumpkin that they ended up having to buy it for him so he wouldn't have to give it up. Overall it was the perfect way to kick off fall!

Freshly Picked Moccasins Giveaway!

I have a confession to make - I have been following Freshly Picked Moccasins on social media long before Easton was ever thought of. My friend Hannah's daughters wear them and I loved how cute they always looked in them.

Tank Jumper: June & January

Once I got pregnant with Easton I knew I would be purchasing him a pair and I was so excited when my girlfriend got him a pair for my baby shower gift. She got me size 3's so he could get a good amount of use out of them so I put them on display in his nursery and patiently waited for him to fit into them.

Once Easton was born he quickly earned the title of "Houdini" when it came to his socks. I could put them on him and he could have one removed and lost before I could walk down stairs. No matter what type of socks we tried he could get out of them.

We lost socks in the car, at the grocery store, church, family members house. Basically, every time I did baby laundry I had more single socks then pairs. So we just started leaving him barefoot which was fine until he started crawling and trying to stand up everywhere we went.

Around 8 months old, I tried Easton's moccasins on and was thrilled to have them finally fit. Then I realized I had no idea how to "style" them. All the fashion forward moms on social media had these unbelievable handmade/small shop outfits to pair with their moccs and Easton's closet, while extensive, was mostly mainstream name brands. I decided that his need to not be barefoot any more outweighed my style dilemma so I paired his Swimming With Sharks with an Old Navy onesie and called it a day.

And guess what? No one in Target asked me where his outfit was from. They were too busy commenting on how cute his moccs were. And the rest is history. Easton's little moccasin stash is now up to 4 pairs and we are patiently awaiting the arrival his pre-ordered anchors.

Clockwise from the top: Butterscotch Licorice, Born In The USA, Weathered Brown, Swimming With Sharks

I am slowly but surely getting better and pairing them with outfits and have loved getting inspiration from Freshly Picked's Instagram and all the "cool moms" on social media. I am loving learning more about the Small Shop/Handmade baby and kids clothing world and have found some amazing shops that we love to pair our moccs with.

He is just starting to walk and I love how his moccs fit him and help make his transition to walking as easy as possible. We recently took a week long road trip and it was so easy to just throw a few pairs of Freshly Picked and not have to worry about packing Easton socks/shoes to go with every outfit. Check out some of his vacation outfits below.
