Today's (5/3) Publix Trip: Spent $30, Saved $60 |
There wasn't much on sale food wise that we needed to stock up on so I just took advantage the deals on fresh items to use to supplement our stockpile for the week. I actually barely purchased any food at the grocery store today that wasn't produce or a fridge/freezer item.
I took advantage of Publix's BOGO chicken sale and got a total of four and a half pounds of fresh, boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I wanted to only buy two smaller packages (I got the smallest at $10/2.5 pounds each) because we are trying to eat what meat we have in the freezer without adding to it too much as hurricane season approaches but we love to have fresh chicken to make dinners with when we can find it on sale. I was able to use a $5/$30 Enjoy The City Winn Dixie coupon so that helped bring my total down though.
I am very excited that we were under budget with groceries this week because we are saving the cash left over from our grocery budget each week to put towards a trip with my family to San Fransisco this summer. Since I did three different shopping trips this week I am going to do a breakdown of the week and under that today's shopping trip.
